There is a story behind this song, but I’ll spare you details. A highly respected musician I know does not consider me a serious musician (a fair point I would not strenuously argue). However, we have mutual acquaintances that I do not think are serious musicians upon whom this highly respected musician heaps praise. In defiance for not being given what I’d consider equal consideration, I wrote this rather involved jazz piece as a demonstration of what I am capable of and, as a secondary consequence, that I am petty and infantile.
