The idea behind this etude was that the opening chord forms the nexus for disparate musical sequences. That same Em7 arpeggio returns again and again, but doesn’t always lead to the same place. Stylistically, it reminds me of JS Bach, but the other influence is probably Pink Floyd (in particular, Wish You Were Here).
